Owners Julie and Andrew Beaumont-Markland have been here since November 2007 and in that time have improved the property and the food and drink on offer. One of the most popular guides for Pennine Way walkers says it all: "Pennine Wayfarers are always looking for an excuse to stop at The Kirkstyle Inn. From the choice of beers to the tasty bar menu and the atmosphere this place has evrything walkers go for."

Julie has been a professionally qualified Chef for 12 years, so she knows what discerning customers want and how to provide it. Staples on her menu include such as homemade chicken curry, horseshoe gammon and pineapple or huge beer battered cod with handcut chips. She also offers an everchanging "specials" board and a house speciality; a Northumbrian sausage menu featuring special sausages made for her locally; reflecting her preference for fresh, local ingredients.

Adjacent to the pub is a cosy, self-catering,cottage sleeping two which can be rented at any time of year.
