The Shepherds Arms Hotel is the ideal base for discovering a wonderful part of the country. Located in the centre of Ennerdale Bridge, on Wainwright's famous Coast to Coast walk, the hotel is loved by many visitors to the area. It is also an extremely popular haunt for locals to enjoy a drink or meal in the wonderfully decorated and traditional panelled Georgian restaurant or bar.

Owned and run by Malcolm Thomas-Chapman for the last 3½ years, the business just gets better with age. Old beams and open fires create a cosy atmosphere in the 400-year old building, creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy 1 or more of the 5 real ales available here- Jennings Bitter being the regular.

There are 8 bedrooms located upstairs, 6 of which are ensuite, two with private bathrooms and they are available all year round on a B&B basis.

Malcolm has recently taken over at The Fox and Hounds, located close by, in the same village and has refurbished the property to produce a bistro style eatery as well as bed and breakfast accommodation.
