The purpose built inn the Kings Arms, was constructed in 1721 and this impressive property has been a popular haunt for locals and visitors since. Open every session and all day on Saturdays the inn boasts three well kept real ales Courage Best, Black Sheep and a rotating guest ale.Good quality, home cooked food is available every lunchtime and evening with guests choosing from the extensive menu or the specials board, which varies on a daily basis. The menu is punctuated with classic pub favourites, such as an excellent steak and kidney pie and locally made Cumberland sausages with mash potato and onion gravy.Situated just off the A66 and close to junction 40 of the M6, the Kings Arms is in a very good position. The exterior is well kept and welcoming and the interior is spacious and traditional, while outside there is a small garden to the rear and patio seating out the front. Leaseholders Richard Jakeman and his son Adam have many years experience in the hospitality trade, providing truly excellent food, drink and service to all of their guests. |
