Located on a working farm within a peaceful, rural setting yet only three miles from Penrith is Hornby Hall Country Guest House, offering the very best in gracious country house accommodation. This attractive property, built of local red sandstone by Edward Birbeck, is Grade 2 listed and dates back to 1550. Guests today will find a perfect combination of original features, antique furnishings and up to date amenities. The premises have been recently refurbished by present owner Christine Westropp, adding further charm to this delightful guest house. Within the main house there are five superb en-suite rooms with a further two enchanting singles in the tower, reached via a spiral staircase. All the rooms are south facing and overlook the stunning grounds. The Great Hall with its sandstone floor and large open fireplace is extremely eye catching and the perfect place to dine. Guests are welcome to stay on B&B only or dinner, B&B. Christine's cooking is second to none and her breakfasts will keep guests going all day! Her evening meals are a must as she uses local produce, some from the estate, and organic produce whenever possible.

Fishing is available on the River Eamont and the guest house can be booked for fishing/shooting parties. Hornby Hall provides that special ambience for private parties and special occasions and is guaranteed to delight all who visit.
