Standing in 1½ acres of superb gardens, with a pond to the front of the building lies Willowbeck Lodge. Purpose built by an award-winning local architect, this boutique hotel nestles among mature willows, beech and oak and is within easy travelling distance of the Lake District.

Offering top quality bed and breakfast accommodation, Willowbeck provides `home away from home' comfort. Upon arrival you are greeted by a grand and contemporary property, with plenty of glass and exposed beams.

Owned and run by John and Liz McGrillis, this property was built 5 years ago on what was and still is the couple's own grounds. They have done a superb job with this building as the premises oozes class and style in each and every area. The interior is light and airy, with contemporary furnishings, finished to a top quality standard.

There are 6 ensuite bedrooms available here, 5 of which overlook the front grounds and the pond, creating a relaxing and tranquil feel, perfect for unwinding and taking in the wonderful surroundings. Each bedroom is comfortably furnished in a modern style, with flat screen TV, broadband connection, hairdryer and tea making facilities. 4 of the bedrooms are located in the main house and the other 2 rooms have been built in the attached extension.

The tariff is reasonable and is reflected in the quality services that are on offer here, as well as the high standard and 5 star gold award rating. Prices start from £110 per room, based on two people sharing, up to £130. All prices include a wonderfully prepared breakfast, with dishes suiting even the fussiest of palettes. Fresh fruit juices, cereals and fruit salads are on offer, as well as traditional full English or continental breakfasts. If you would prefer something in-between you may decide to opt for scrambled egg with smoked salmon, kippers or scotch pancakes. Evening meals are also available upon request, in advance. Each evening meal is a set menu, with a choice of starters and desserts.
