Renowed throughout Cockermouth and beyond as being one of the best known places to dine, is a delightful tea rooms known as Beatfords Country Tea Rooms. Situated in the quaint town of Lowther Went, nestled between the main street and the town's biggest carpark, Beatfords offers the perfect place to meet for a drink and a fine choice for a meal. Attentive owner Eileen Jackson has over 30 years of experience in the catering industry and it really shows. The atmosphere here is relaxed and friendly allowing visitors to escape the stresses and strains of everyday life and enjoy a little `me' time.

The edible options here are truly delicious, and will leave visitors spoilt for choice. Using locally sourced produce from within the county, everything on offer is homemade, from the tempting cakes and scones to the hearty hot meals. There is something for every appetite and palette with toasted tea cakes, freshly baked scones, fruit pavlova and homemade fruit pie just a few options to satisfy a sweet tooth. The lemon merange pie is a firm favourite and melts in your mouth! For those wishing to satisfy a savoury craving, jacket potatoes with a choice of 12 fillings, open sandwiches, salads and toasted sandwiches are sure to do just that.

An ever changing specials board is also available to keep the regular visitors satisfied. Beatfords offers a comprehensive choice of beverages to accompany your meal or enjoy alone, with hot chocolate, coffee, ice-cream milkshakes, freshly squeezed orange juice and a range of cold drinks all ready to quench the thirst. For visitors who love their morning brew, Beatfords has 10 different types of tea to choose from allowing you to have a different tea for everyday of the week.

Open Monday to Saturday 9am - 5pm (closed on Sunday). Children are made to feel welcome and all major credit cards are accepted.
