This famous historic inn dates back to the 17th century and is located at the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. Richard and Judy have owned The Ship Inn for the past seven years and they offer a fine selection of home cooked food served from local produce and a selection of quality ales.

Judy takes charge of the kitchen and her delicious dishes include; Chef's Homemade Steak & Ale Pie, Whitby Scampi and Beer Battered Fish & Chips. The desserts are very tempting with choices including 'Ship Inn Sundaes' and Hanky Panky Chocolate Pie. Food is served Monday - Thursday between 12pm and 2pm and between 6pm and 8.30pm. On Friday and Saturdays food is served between 12pm and 8.30pm and on Sunday between 12pm and 6pm. Such is its popularity it is advisable for larger parties to book.

On brighter days there is a beer garden for customers to make the most of and on colder evenings a log fire provides a relaxing and cosy atmosphere. Four child friendly en-suite guest rooms are available and each have a colour television, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Ring for details.
