Built in 1835, Denver Windmill produced flour for over a hundred years until it was struck by lightening in 1941. It is now fully restored and milling flour by wind power once more. Guided tours to the top of the mill and a visitor's centre provide a fascinating insight into this process. A bakery and tearoom selling Denver Windmill flour and delicious products in which it is an ingredient are also on site as well as three craft units. Stay in the miller's house, now converted into three charming holiday cottages. School parties are made welcome with special activities. An education room is available for use. Open 1st April-31st Oct, Mon-Sat, 10am-5pm, Sun, 12pm-5pm. 1st Nov-31st March, Mon-Sat, 10am-4pm, Sun, 12pm-4pm. |
