Peaceful and quiet, the quaint sea side town of Brightlingsea has a lot going for it, situated on the mouth of the river Colne, the area is well attended each year for various marine events. Visitors could do a lot worse than spend some time at Mooch @ No 9, a smart and cosmopolitan cafe which fits in well with the local European cafe culture. Set in the middle of the town centre, Mooch @ No 9 is frequented by a wide range of customers from a wide range of backgrounds. The recently built property does not detract from the charm and character instilled by owner of five years Mike Palfrey, who has decorated in a modern and contemporary manner. Using bright colours such as burnt orange and white, Mike has created a light and airy interior, which is the perfect place to sit awhile, watch the world go past and enjoy a hot beverage.

Flagstone flooring throughout promotes a quality feel to the establishment as soon as you enter and the smiling staff couldn't be friendlier as they ensure you have a great dining experience. A nice touch is the quality crockery and cutlery used; they're modern, white and wavy and more than adequate for presenting a Panini on! The food is exquisite; all of the ingredients being locally sourced and dishes created fresh to order ensuring the high standards of the cafe remain so. Sandwiches, Panini, bagels, the choices are almost endless and there is certainly something for every taste and preference.

The cafe is open between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm Monday to Saturday and is closed on Sundays. There is no disabled toilet but there are access facilities.
