That's the motto of Joss Ridley who owns Compasses Inn, a delightfully picturesque country Inn situated in the quiet rural hamlet of Littley Green, ideally located for visitors from Chelmsford, Felsted, Braintree, Great Dunmow, Little/Great Waltham and Great Leigh's race course.

This traditional wood panelled and stone floored country pub promises a night in the slow lane, with real ales from Essex Breweries drawn by hand from the well stocked cellar. The speciality of the house, the Essex Huffer (a large traingular bap generously filled with various local ingredients), is available every lunchtime and evening. The pub is open Mon-Wed noon to 3pm and 5.30pm to midnight and Thurs-Sun noon to midnight. In the summer months this can all be enjoyed from one of the two finely kept gardens, ideal for families and children to play in, where the original slate roofing and red brick country style can be admired at leisure. The relaxed atmosphere and rural environment make a perfect spot to sit back and enjoy the simpler pleasures.
