Visitors to the Heron Inn at Malpas, will be delighted with the picture postcard setting this delightful pub has to offer. Situated just over a mile from the popular City of Truro, the Heron Inn has an unbeatable location overlooking the estuary.

Experienced tenants, Karen and Jonathan Berg offer outstanding hospitality to all their guests, going the extra mile to ensure all needs are catered for and everyone has an enjoyable visit. It is open in the winter every session and all day Fri/Sat/Sun and all day, every day during the summer months.

The smart interior has tasteful furnishings, wooden floor and a beamed ceiling creating a cosy atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy the three real ales on offer, Tribute, IPA and Black Prince or choose a superb dish from the extensive choice on the menus.

Karen uses mainly local produce in the wide range of healthy, freshly prepared meals which are served daily between 12-2pm and 6.30-9pm. The excellent selection on the lunchtime menu includes culinary delights such as Fisherman's platter-locally smoked mackerel fillets served with salad, brown bread and a horseradish sauce; Homemade mushroom, spinach and roasted tomato lasagne with garlic bread and the unique Falafels (middle eastern chickpea fritters) served with toasted pitta bread, humous, roasted vegetables and salad. Locally made pork and tribute ale sausages served with creamy mash and homemade onion gravy is one of the traditional meals on offer and the menu includes a variety of rolls, tortilla wraps and toasted paninis not forgetting the extremely popular and delicious Cornish crab sandwiches. Evening diners can expect a variation on the lunchtime menu with additional choices including grilled lamb cutlets served with buttery minted mash, redcurrant and red wine sauce and a selection of vegetables and the vegetarian option of homemade chickpea and sweet potato curry served with rice and naan bread. Kid's meals choices include homemade spaghetti Bolognese and homemade mushroom pasta among many other tasty options. There is a plentiful choice of side orders available as well as hot beverages and liqueur coffees to complete the dining experience.

The stunning location of the Heron Inn is a good enough reason alone to pay a visit but coupled with the outstanding cuisine and hospitality on offer visitors to this part of Cornwall would be foolish not to make it a top priority on their `to do' list!
