The Royal Standard dates back to 1797 when it was built by local blacksmith William Pearce. This popular village inn is situated on the Roseland peninsula at Gerrans close to Portscatho and has been run by leaseholders Dave and Bobbie Mitchell for nearly four years.

Customers can choose between two real ales in the season. Quality food is available between 12-2pm and then 6-9pm with a fabulous choice of dishes available on the printed menu with further daily delights on the specials board. As well as using locally grown vegetables in the delicious cuisine, the meat and fish used here is sourced locally assuring guests of the utmost freshness. Samples from the evening menu include a hearty lamb and root vegetable stew served with roast parsnips and crusty bread; marvellous mussels in a white wine and cream sauce served with crusty bread; and a vegetarian chilli with quorn served with basmati rice and cheesy tortillas.

There is a superb garden at the rear and during the winter the pub is closed on Monday lunchtimes. Entertainment includes a quiz held the first Sunday of every month at 8.30pm with live music on the last Friday of every month from 9pm.
