Carved into the hill side and set within 6 acres of well maintained gardens and woodland stands the magnificent and elegant Barclay House, a welcoming guest house with restaurant and 8 surrounding self-catering cottages. This tranquil paradise with unrivalled views of the East Looe River and Looe Harbour, offers guests a truly unique experience, with many returning time and time again. Attentive owners Graham and Gill Brooks have been welcoming guests for over 3 years and ensure that your stay is a memorable one from start to finish whether it be dining in the restaurant, staying in the hotel or having a holiday base in one of the cottages.

The highly commended Barclay House offers plenty do to regardless of the weather - there is an outdoor swimming pool and an air conditioned gymnasium for those who enjoy a little exercise or perhaps relaxing in the sauna is more your style? With so much to keep you busy and the town only a 10 minute walk away, you'll be glad to retire to one of the 10 comfortable and spacious bedrooms many with breathtaking views of the river. `What an absolutely beautiful setting with service to match' - James and Shirley, Surbiton.

The 8 timber framed self-catering cottages at Barclay House have all been carefully positioned, presenting panoramic views and offering a perfect base to enjoy all that East Looe has to offer. The leisure facilities are also available to self-catering guests and Graham and Gill are always on hand to offer help and advice on where is best to visit.

Barclay house not only offers a blissful place to stay, it also claims a renowned restaurant which is extremely popular with guests and locals. Head Chef Benjamin Palmer has put a lot of time into creating a mouth-watering menu using the freshest produce from local suppliers. With dishes such as; warm duck salad with orange and woodland mushroom risotto for starters, Trenant Farm char grilled fillet steak and pan roasted lamb rump for mains, it's no wonder that the menu has earned an AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence. `Yet another fantastic culinary experience in understated elegance with superb and sincere service par excellence' - Jennie and Phil, Liskeard.
