Description:

The nursery is owned and run by the Groves family
_ Clive and Diana, and son Charles - who are the
5th and 6th generation of the family since the business
was established in 1866. Clive qualified at
Cannington College, Charles at the University of Leeds. The
6-acre site is beautifully laid out with eye-catching
features such as the koi ponds, rose gardens and pergolas.
An experimental Potager Garden culminates in a
Solar Dome which houses trials of tomato varieties and
chilli peppers during the summer. In winter, it contains
the National Collection of viola odorata cultivans
(sweet violets) and double Parma violets. The nursery
has won Gold at the International Violet Competition
on two occasions. The Garden Centre shop is
well-stocked with all the usual products, with particularly
extensive selections of tools, pet products and garden
furniture. From October to December, the nursery has a
special Christmas shop.
