Just a 5-minute drive from Sidmouth, The Barn & Pinn Cottage is a stunning 15th Century thatched cottage surrounded by glorious award winning gardens which received a Gold award from the Sidmouth in Bloom competition in 2009. This lovely old dwelling is the home of Peter and Kim Clinch who extend a genuinely warm welcome to all their guests. Finding the right bed and breakfast can be difficult, especially in Devon, but if you take a look around their website you may just find the decision making process has been made a whole lot easier for you!

Guests have the use of a comfortable and welcoming lounge with a 42" television, games and books. During the cooler months, a log-burning stove adds to the appeal. The 4-star accommodation comprises 10 individually decorated en suite rooms with full central heating, TV and hospitality tray. There's one single with a 4ft bed; 3 doubles, 2 twins, 1 holiday let, 1 king size and 2 luxury rooms with King size 4-poster beds and private patio and garden. Peter and Kim are happy to welcome guests with well-behaved dogs. There are three bedrooms suitable for use by guests with dogs.

Breakfast is served in a cosy room overlooking the garden and many guests enjoy watching the birds and squirrels who are active there. Dinner is available from Thursday to Sunday and is served in 'The Barn', a large vaulted room which in days gone by was a hay barn. This room also enjoys the comfort of a wood-burner and also enjoys lovely views over the gardens. The menu offers good home cooking with a varied menu to choose from. There's also a well-stocked bar.

Guests at the Barn & Pinn Cottage will find plenty to see and do in the area. Sidmouth itself was described by the late Poet Laureate, John Betjeman, as having "beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, Regency history, clean beaches and friendly shops. It's all here in this lovely seaside town that nestles beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley". Other attractions within easy reach include the historic houses of Cadhay, Ugbrooke Park and Powderham Castle; Escot Gardens and the manifold attractions of the historic city of Exeter.
