The National Lobster Hatchery promotes and contributes to the responsible management of coastal marine resources, as well as offering a resource for education, conservation and research. At the forefront, is a lobster restocking project, where fishermen bring egg laden female lobsters in to enable them to release their offspring where there are no predators. The young lobsters are then raised to a size where they can look after themselves and are released back into the sea. One of the main aims is education and groups from schools and colleges can be provided with activities and workshops. Open all year 7 days a week.
