The Grapes Hotel is one of the oldest and most famous coaching Inns in Wales. Found in the picturesque Village of Maentwrog, in the Vale of Ffestiniog, the Grapes Hotel is a 17th century Grade II listed coaching inn, with parts dating back as far as the early 13th century. Over 280 years the Grapes hotel has become renowned for its ales, home fare, hospitality and accommodation - a tradition that lives on today. This historic inn has a rich history of entertaining the famous of Wales. George Burrows wrote in `Wild Wales' a masterpiece of its time, `a magnificent parlour and partook of brandy and water'. Lloyd George and Lilly Langtry were also visitors.Today the Grapes Hotel is a warm and comfortable traditional Inn, with real log fires, offering home cooked food made from the best local produce, a selection of local cask conditioned ale and some of the best accommodation anywhere in north Wales.The Grapes Hotel warmly welcomes families, walkers and even the family dog (as long as they're well behaved!) to come and enjoy welsh hospitality at its best. |
