Morawelan Waterfront Café, Bar & Restaurant has been owned and run by the Watts family for many generations and is currently in the capable hands of the mother-and-son team of Christine and Richard Watts.Their café occupies a superb position overlooking Newport Bay, a wonderful spot from which to watch the sun go down. The menu features an excellent choice of freshly prepared, mostly local produce - dishes such as baked crab, hot buttered lobster, Welsh lamb cutlets, freshly prepared salads, and more. On Sundays, traditional roasts are served. To complement your meal, choose from the extensive selection stocked in the fully licensed bar. There are 50 seats inside or you may prefer to sit on the terraces surrounded by the sea and the Presili Hills. Morawelan is open from 5pm to 11pm, but closed throughout November.Newport Parrog was once a lively sea port. This settlement predates the town below which it nestles but to which it has now long joined. Shipbuilding, fishing, slate quarrying, coastal trading and lime burning were important in the past. Parrog has an attractive coastal character, with impressive vertical slate sea walling and older buildings along the shore-relict warehouses and limekilns-standing today as reminders of its maritime, industrial and commercial past.Morawelon Camping & Caravan SiteNewport, Pembrokeshire SA42 0RWTel: 01239 820565Located behind Morawelon Café/Restaurant, the Morawelon Caravan Site is just a short distance from Newport Beach.
