Shirley and Ian Norman are passionate about their work and about the lovely part of the world where they live, and they combine the two passions at The Boathouse Gallery. It stands in the sunny seaside village of Little Haven, south of Broad Haven on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Little Haven's superb sandy beach has inspired many painters and photographers, and the coast and countryside are the inspiration behind Shirley and Ian's work. Shirley's original watercolours and giclée reproductions are shown here, along with her "Calligraphic Cards" - greeting cards using apt and humorous quotations. Driftwood is Ian's medium : he turns the wood into lamps, mirrors and "Nauticals" - quotations burnt into the driftwood. Each piece is unique, showing the diverse effects of the elements on the wood. New displays for 2009 are a range of reclaimed oak furniture and a selection of beautiful hand-crafted jewellery. The Gallery, which is located a short walk from the main car park, is open April to October from 11 to 4 (closed Mondays except School and Bank Holidays).
