Golf Course    Club House    Fruit Farm    Nature Trail

In beautiful countryside signposted off the A487 in Rhydyfelin, Lloyds of Penlanlas provides visitors of all ages and a variety of interests with a wonderful day out. Owners Mark and Suzanne Lloyd established the Golf Course in 1993 in one of the most spectacular locations in Wales, with glorious views of the countryside in all directions. The undulating 9-hole course (par 62) is suitable for golfers of all abilities, and the pleasure and interest of a round are increased by numerous water features and established tree plantings of natural species. The peace and beauty are further added to by the wildlife, including the amazing red kites. The course is available from 8am till dark in the summer and from 10 to 4 in the winter; a range of equipment is sold in the club shop. Once a year the course plays host to one of the local societies and their friends, making money for local charities and good causes.

The very smart modern Club House has a licensed bar and upstairs function room that is available for golf societies and corporate days, wedding receptions, private parties, conferences and meetings. The Club House is open from 10 to 6 from March to September for teas and coffees, home-made cakes, light snacks and main meals, highlighting local or home-grown produce and their own chickens.

Penanlas Farm grows a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. It started in a modest way as a strawberry farm and now, with the aid of polytunnels, produces strawberries, raspberries, black, white and redcurrants, gooseberries, potatoes, carrots, green beans and broad beans. Pick Your Own is available in the summer. Fruit from the Farm is the basis of the wonderful Cegin Suzanne preserves made in small batches to a traditional family recipe; varieties include strawberry & champagne, gooseberry & mint, blackcurrant & port and marmalades.

Mark and Suzanne have created a Nature Trail that leads up to a superb viewpoint looking towards Snowdon and the Preseli Hills. Beside the trail is a strip of natural ground cover - a mix of kale, quinoa, linseed and wheat - that provides a habitat and source of food for a variety of wildlife. This unique opportunity to enjoy nature and glorious views is open to the public and to local educational groups.
