A Grade II-listed Georgian building in the heart of historic Ruthin underwent a major refurbishment in 2006 that combined many of the best original features with stylish modern interior design and up-to-the-minute facilities. The eight bedrooms in Manorhaus (the `haus' is a nod of respect towards the Bauhaus school of design) range from cosy doubles with wet-room showers to a luxurious suite with a lounge area and roll-top bath; all have king-size beds, goose down bedding, Egyptian cotton sheets, flat-screen TV with DVD/CD player and free wi-fi high-speed internet access. Each room is individually designed in collaboration with artists who show their work in the rooms on a long-term basis. The owners have chosen the furniture, fabrics and colours to blend with the artwork, providing a high level of comfort combined with eye-catching style and elegance.

In the restaurant (booking recommended) à la carte dinners highlight the best of Welsh produce, including Salt Marsh lamb, Welsh Black beef and Menai mussels. Thoughtfully chosen wines accompany the fine food, and the bar also stocks a variety of bottled beers and a selection of single malts and Welsh spirits. The restaurant and lounge areas also act as a gallery space showcasing the work of contemporary Welsh artists.
