Situated on the edge of Whipsnade Village Green the Tree Cathedral combines a range of different varieties of trees and shrubs laid out to the plan of a cathedral. There is a nave, transepts, chancel, cloisters and four chapels and an outer cloister walk enclosing a wide area with a dew pond as its focal pointOwned by the National Trust the Tree Cathedral is managed by trustees and cared for and maintained by volunteers. The planting continues in order to maintain the principle features for future generations.There is an annual inter-denominational service held each year in June. There is a small car park signposted from the B4540 in Whipsnade. |
