Formed by an extinct volcano, The Head is the best known landmark along the magnificent Berwickshire coast. Home to thousands of nesting seabirds in summer, the Head also has a wealth of other wildlife and fine views along the coast. In recognition of its importance to both wildlife and people, the Head was declared a National Nature Reserve in 1983. The offshore waters lie within a Special Area of Conservation and form part of Scotland's only Voluntary Marine Nature Reserve, New remote camera link to Nature Reserve Centre allows visitors to observe seabirds during nesting season (recorded footage out of season). Exhibition, toilets.
