Haverthwaite Station, nr Ulverston, Cumbria LA12 8AL

Tel: 01539 531594

From the Victorian station at Haverthwaite, beautifully restored steam locomotives of the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway haul comfortable coaches through the Leven Valley. With connections at Lakeside by way of Windermere Lake Cruises, the train offers a unique perspective from which to enjoy the ever-changing lake and river scenery of this picturesque part of the Lake District. This former Furness Railway branch line runs for 3.5 miles, with a journey time of around 20 minutes, giving passengers a leisurely and relaxing trip. Whilst at Haverthwaite, visitors can sample a delicious home-baked scone in the licensed Station Restaurant - an ideal way to start or end the journey.
